The child came for the treatment of Adenoid hypertrophy(enlargement of adenoids) which is commonly seen in children. It leads to mouth breathing, a habit which is very difficult to break. Mouth breathing is abnormal and gives a direct entry to many disease causing microorganisms into the lungs leading to many dangerous diseases in the children. Once the habit of mouth breathing due to obstruction is established, the child has little desire to use the nose for respiration. Therefore, the sooner the condition is corrected, the better chances there are for the re-establishment of nasal mechanism. The voice loses tone and becomes nasal and lifeless.

After the treatment from me even the obstinate habit of mouth breathing was curbed in the child and he became healthy, active and intelligent.

This is a case of eczema, a kind of skin disease presenting with redness, swelling, infilteration, exudation, bleeding, and consequent crusting . It is most common on the faces of infants.It is quite difficult  to treat such cases with other systems of medicine but with homoeopathic treatment a complete cure was effected.

A female came with swelling in the neck due to enlarged thyroid gland. Prior to the treatment she had problem of weight gain, easy fatigue, irritability, depression, constipation and hair loss. She also had family history of thyroid disorders . After  regular treatment from us she got completely well and all her symptoms disappeared consequently.

In the beginning of my practice the Director of Public Instruction of Punjab was introduced to me. His father, an old man was administered vitamin B-12 injection which was later on found to have bee used after the expiry date, as the result of which he developed severe asthmatic attacks and was hospitalized. When I went to see him in his house I found him hearing to news from All India Radio. The moment the singing programme started he used an abusive language and asked her daughter to switch off the radio. His wife who was discussing his complaints with me casually remarked  that he did not like songs. Considering ‘Aversion to music’ and the bad effect of expired Vit B -12complex, I prescribed a homoeopathic medicine ‘Nux vomica’. Next morning he was found going for a walk with his pet dog. 

That was the first miracle I performed with Homoeopathic medicine.

In one family - when I visited the house next time I found the whole family members accusing the youngest son. Father was shouting and using abusive language for he had cheated the whole family by buying a cheap buffalo and  taking more money. He was all the time swearing upon God stating that he paid high amount and that the buffalo could give any thing  between 15 - 20kgs of milk a day. But unfortunately when he started from the market it started raining and the buffalo got wet and milk suppressed. On the following day when he came to my clinic  for the medicine for his father, I told him that I could help him with homoeopathic medicine if he could tell me the truth. He confessed that he bought the buffalo on cheap rate and the owner himself told him that the buffalo could only give 2 – 3 Kgs of milk  and so he wanted to get rid of it. Lac defloratum was the only medicine known to me then, for ‘Scanty milk’.

I gave him a bottle containing 5-6 drops of Lac defloratum 200 and asked him to put it in the water that the buffalo drank. Surprisingly the breasts which were small   started swelling and within two three days she started giving  more than 15 kgs of milk per day.

After witnessing such miracles happening with homoeopathic medicines the entire family became friendly with me. One day when I was introduced to all the members of the family in a happy situation, I noticed that all the children except the eldest daughter were married. When I asked for the reason for not marrying, she got up and walked out of the room. Her mother told me that the very name of marriage would irritate her and she would simply avoid such conversation. I remembered that Dr Kent while explaining about a Homoeopathic medicine ‘Pulsatilla’ that the Pulsatilla patient thinks that marriage is a social evil. When her mothers sister, who was also staying with them came to my clinic for her medicine, I gave her a dose of Pulsatilla 10m potency asked her to give it to her either in water or milk without telling her about it. It was after a month or so when she was going to school to leave the daughter of her brother, I felt that the smile she gave me was something different. I could smell that Pulsatilla was preparing her for marriage. I told her parents to try now and that perhaps she might agree. After some days they spoke to her about a marriage proposal. She did not object to it. An exclusive meeting between the man and the woman (Not the girl and the boy, yen)were arranged at her home, and the merrige was solemnized shortly after that.

I had to struggle a lot in popularizing homoeopathy in this region. In the process I organized classes for elderly people who were interested in Homoeopathy. I have chosen an interesting medicine ‘Natrum mur’ which made from common salt. In the homoeopathic preparation it is efficacious for many diseases. I spoke as to how it can correct the perverted mind or  miss placed love and make them realize their mistakes and leave such habits. For example the daughter  of an IAS officer falling in love with the driver who used to drive her to school. A lady principal of the  private college falling in love with the peon etc. After the lecture when I came back to my clinic a middle aged woman introduced herself as a nurse working in a government hospital and that she was in love with a very attractive and good looking sikh boy of about 24 years working in the same hospital as a photographer and  that both of them loved each other immensely. But now unfortunately there was another sikh young and beautiful girl who was living in front of his house was after him and that now he seemed to have been inclined toward her. She wanted that he should forget the young girl and marry her. She requested me to give her Natrum mur so that she was able to give him and bring him back to her.

I gave it a thought and told her to call on me on the following day. By the time we could finish our conversation one handsome young boy came to take her home back. I thought Natrum mur if given it would remove the perverted mind and bring young boy back to his normal state of mind. So I decided to give the medicine. After 3 months or so when I was passing through a dhaba (A Small hotel) I saw the young sardar with a beautiful sardarni seem to have been newly wedded as the dress and ornament she  wore could depict. Is n’t it wonderful!

An I.A.S. officer who was regular visitor of my clinic had developed unshakable faith in me and Homoeopathy. He was very close to the then chief minister. He told me that the chief minister was very much upset because of his eye infection. He was under the treatment of the head of the eye department of recognized hospital for the past 14 days and there is no improvement in his condition. He had to attend a wedding in the family of a very important person and close friend of his. Because of his eye trouble he was not able to attend the party. He assured the chief minister that if he was prepared to take homoeopathic medicine he would bring a homoeopathic doctor who would definitely help him out of this situation.

I was not willing to take up this challenge. Because this  was the time when homoeopathy through my effort started occupying some place in the mind of the people in this region.  One set back at this time would prove a death blow to Homoeopathy as it happened during Hahnemann’s time. Somehow on his persistent encouragement and confident in me I ventured and went with him to Chief ministers residence.. We had to wait for some time for the chief minister to come because he went to meet the eye specialist. On his arrival I was introduced to him. He completed every thing in one sentence. “If you  can help me to attend the wedding party which is very important for me then only you should try your medicine. Otherwise I am quite comfortable with the specialist at recognized hospital.  I took it an opportunity to slip back by saying NO, but then a thought came ‘It would add a feather to the crown of Homoeopathy if I succeeded’. I took up the challenge. As opened his eye lid to examine his eyes a few drops of water rolled down. I immediately remembered the advice of Dr. Kent to give Rhus tox for such condition.  

I sent three doses of it with an instruction to take them at an interval of two hours. As the luck would have it the eye specialist was also there in the wedding party. The chief minister called for him, shouted at him and said ‘ I had been walking up and down for the past two weeks. You could do nothing even being the head of the eye department. See what Dr Castro could do with his homoeopathic medicine. The whole crowd could witness exclamation of the chief minister and many told me as to how the eye specialist shrunk in front of the crowd maximum of which was dignitaries. Having gained confidence in me and Homoeopathy the chief minister told the I.A.S. officer to show his elder brother also to me who was admitted to hospital for the past 3 months for his chronic and troublesome hiccough. Nothing could be done but. He was brought to my clinic by the I.A.S. officer and his wife.

 I took pity on the old man who was hiccoughing constantly. As I set down to take the case history, I remembered to have read somewhere that Nux vomica is the top ranking medicine for troublesome hiccough and that it is a best remedy to antidoting allopathic medicines which he had been swallowing for the past three months in hospital. He had been over drugged with strong allopathic medicines as he was not responding to ordinary treatment. I put a dose of Nux vom 200 in his mouth and started noting down the case history.

As I only completed noting down a few lines, the I.A.S. officer and his wife drew my attention by their exclamation ‘His hiccough is gone’. I sent them back with a few more doses to be taken for 2 – 3 more days which could help in antedating the harmful effect of Allopathic medicines. Otherwise for hiccough one dose of Nux vom 200 would have been sufficient.

I was called to attend an young engineer who was admitted to hospital for complete loss of voice. He tried homoeopathic medicine from the principal of the Homoeopathic local college who happened to be my student. The entire family was of Homoeopathic bent of mind. As nothing was coming out of all laboratory investigations (There was really nothing wrong with him) and treatments, some idea struck the mind of his father. “Why not we try the teacher of the teachers of homoeopathy?” I sat in a chair near his bed. His brother started explaining all about the treatment etc., I told the patient to encourage himself to talk to me instead of his brother. He tried. Initially he could only whisper with difficulty and later with ease. I felt that his voice was becoming clearer as he continued to talk; I shifted my chair a bit far from him to force him to talk louder. As he tried to talk louder his voice became still clearer.

The medicine Rhus tox came to my mind which is commonly used for anything in which ‘First motion aggravates and continued motion ameliorates’ This condition people normally develop when they suddenly expose themselves from warm to cold. I asked him if he had something cold immediately after having something hot. He immediately confessed to have had cold fruit juice after having hot coffee in a wedding party. I sent 9 doses of Rhus tox 1M to be taken; 3 doses a day – one in the morning second in the  afternoon and third at bed time. This medicine because of it’s counter action needs to be repeated quite often. On first day itself he felt better. Second day he got himself discharged from the hospital while still his investigations were going on. Nothing could come out because there was no serious disease in him which medical equipments could tell of. Third day the entire members of the family came to my clinic to thank me for giving him the wonder drug (Ney the medicine) . They asked for a few more of it. I refused to give them for the doses he had taken were sufficient. I could have made some more money by prolonging his treatment on some pretext or the other. But medical ethics and conscious did not permit me.

Mrs. Sandhu, 60 years of age had a hysterectomy due to uterine fibroids. Both the breast were removed in a cancer hospital in America(where her daughter was working as a cancer specialist),because of the secondaries in it. After conducting all her tests and finding her fit in all respects she was sent back to India. After a few months of her arrival in India she feel unconscious and was hospitalized. The medical college authorities gave up hopes as the cancer spread to the brain.

Xanthoxylum fraxineum 30 was prescribed on the basis of the symptom; “Dream of flying over the top of the roof of house”, as narrated by her husband. The result was miraculous. Within two days, the patient was discharged from the hospital for she regained consciousness. Within a week she started walking and performing domestic duties. The next CT Scan, after two months revealed “no lesion in the brain”. Her husband published an advertisement for the benefit of those who are groping in  darkness for help and cure; appreciating the miraculous effect of homoeopathic system of medicine.

An old man of about 90 years was refused admission by the doctors in recognized hospital he was sentenced as medically dead. His relatives started crying and howling. A police inspector who was a passer by advised them to show him to me in the hospital at Mohali .  I was as usual surrounded by patients. One of the two allopathic lady doctors  who were  taking  care of the general treatment of the patients came and told me that a very serious case that was refused admission by doctors in hospital was brought to us and that the attendant  insisted to meet me for his admission and treatment. She requested me not to admit him because if dies it would bring bad name to the newly established hospital. He was totally cold and there was no Pulsatilla . Only because he was breathing we could say that he was alive. On my enquiry she said that  because of the kidney failure his heart is also failing.

I told her that birth and death occurs in every hospital. Hour hospital was no exception. His attendants knew his condition. So no blame could come to us if he dies. But if we could save him we give him a new life. I did not care to see the him not only because I was  surrounded by the patients but also I had confidence in the homoeopathic medicines. If he was sent to me, then  he was sent  to me by  God  and he has life to live and homoeopathy would save him. I told her to give a dose of Digitalis 30 (which Knerr in his repertory suggested ‘Heart failure due to kidney failure - Dig)’ and watch. After a few minutes one of the lady doctors came running and said “Sir his temperature is coming up” I told her to wait. As she was going back the other doctor came running and said “Sir his pulse is also coming up”. I told her also to wait and watch.  After when I was a little free from my patients, I went to see him. I was astonished to see him drinking water. I checked all vitals such as blood pressure, temperature and respiratory rate, all were found normal. Within four days of treatment he walked out from his ward, cross the road and got into the jeep that brought him, which was parked in front of our hospital on the other side of the road and was driven home back.

Mr. James a father - in - law of an influential retired army officer, who was childhood friend of Mr.  Sunil Dutt the famous film actor and the then member of parliament, was admitted to a very famous hospital in Delhi, which was meant for foreign diplomats only. He was suffering from cancer of the head of the pancreas. Because of his old age and the location of the cancer they refused for any treatment except for some life supporting measures such as feeding through nose and glucose injection etc., They medically sentenced him to death. This family knew me through one Brigadier Nair whose wife a gone case of cancer and successfully treated by me. They requested the hospital authorities for permission to permit me to take up the case. Because there was nothing they could do and survival of the  patient was doubtful they readily gave permission.

When I was introduced to the senior most doctor of the hospital he started asking me funny questions. How can your medicine enter the place where the scalpel (Surgeon’s knife) cannot reach? I with a smile (though  I lost my temper) answered him, “I know what your science can do. But you do not know anything about Homoeopathy, therefore, there is no point in discussing about it . You allow me to treat him and see the result.” I was told to show the result within 7 days. I was compelled to agree to this. I prescribed Conium 30 to be repeated every two hours, rubbed on his skin as he was in a semiconscious state and was being fed through Ryle’s tube. After a few doses he regained his consciousness. Second day he started eating and third day he started moving about. In order to save the heavy expenditure they got him discharged from the hospital. The old man lived along and healthy life, going for morning walk, playing with the children etc, I received many telephone calls from people from foreign countries who were suffering from cancer, requesting me to visit them in their respective countries and save them as I saved Mr. James. It was  not possible for me to go all countries of the world. If they wanted they could come to India which was not possible for them too.

Air Commodore Nair, an uncle of Brigadier Nair about whom I made a mention above was living in Chandigarh. Since the time I cured Brigadier (he was a major then) Nair’s wife the entire family became friendly with me. One day I was requested to visit his house for he was bed ridden due to some pain in the back. When I visited him, he told me that while bending down to pick up something he caught a catch. Because other medicines did not help him so he thought of getting help from Homoeopathy. After examining him while I coming out the room I heard him saying something and his wife answering him Ok.Ok. I turned back and asked what the matter was. She told me that he got a few bottles of foreign whisky in his cub board and he asked her  to give them to you as he developed hatred for it and does not drink any more. After a few weeks, Brig Nair’s wife came to my clinic and exclaimed “Hey Docy what have you done with my uncle”.

I was surprised about her remark – “What happened” I asked her. “What medicine did you give him for his backache”? “Tell me what happened”. “Uncle was suffering from cancer. Hospital people could not locate the site of the cancer; also control the diarrhea he was suffering from. The blood test confirmed cancer somewhere. His son a major in the army got a seat reserved for him  in the military hospital in Poona for his treatment there. After your medicine you gave him for backache his diarrhea stopped and he has started eating his normal food. Surprisingly the blood report also came out normal.

You are an wonderful doctor, docy!, You are an wonderful doctor. May God give long life. People need you.

The last but not the least. I have to narrate my own story which happened recently. It was in the first week of October i.e., last month. I had to visit a few furniture shops in search of furniture made in china for my new clinic. In the process I might have got my left leg scratched in which infection took place. Because I was tired of my exertion felt like taking rest. My wife was attending on the patient sent an assistant doctor to my house upstairs (Our clinics are down stairs). The doctor reported her back that I was in a sound sleep. But something – inner self could not rest on that statement (After all she is my wife!). She decided to come and look me up  herself. She found me lying unconscious with froth in the mouth. Temperature recorded more than 105 degree F. They brought the temperature down with a few doses of Pyrogen 1m. When I regained consciousness, I found my left leg swollen. I told them not to bother about it and that it was only Cellulitis (Inflammation of the cells due to infection which developed due to accidental scratch by furniture or any other such substance). A medical specialist who was taking treatment from my wife for his children was called and he confirmed it to be cellulitis and scared them by telling not to rely on Homoeopathy because if antibiotic was not given it will spread all over the body which can endanger life.

He took out his letter pad from his hand bag and made a prescription; antibiotics and told me to take them for a week and report. If does not subside then it might have to be repeated. On an another slip he wrote down certain blood tests and ultra sonography which could be possible only after I was able to walk which was after about a week or more. On referring to Synthesis repertory we found a medicine vaccinium myrtillus on the symptoms cellulites phlgmonous (Inflammation of the connective tissue) the infection was so severe That my foot was not able to touch the floor. The moment I put the foot down I would scream with pain. I continued to take the medicine in 200th potency, repeated after every 2 hours. Next morning my wife and the administrative in charge of our organization Miss Kapoor were planning to arrange for a crutch to help me to go for nature’s calls etc., In the meantime during night (Towards morning at about 4 AM or so when I felt like passing urine I could get up and without feeling much pain could walk a few steps and pass urine in the bedpan. It was about 8 AM when they were discussing about arranging for crutch standing near my bed. I quietly came out of my bed to see if I could walk. Astonishly as I walked a few steps ,the pain started subsiding. I shouted at them out of joy. Yeh; see not only I can walk but also I can kick you with my left (effected) leg.  It was a moment of surprise for all of us. All Homoeopaths working in the organization rejoiced the success. 

The anxiety about my lying unconscious with froth in the mouth and 105 degree temperature. Fear of the infection spreading to the  whole body. Endangering my  life if antibiotics are avoided. The horrible scene of me walking on one leg with the support of crutch, all have become the things of the past. We have decided to proceed further. A laboratory technician was called who took blood sample for laboratory analysis and took an appointment with the radiologist of the general hospital (who including her father- in – law and daughter were under my treatment) for ultrasonogaphy of my abdomen as suggested by  the medical specialist. After collecting all the reports we went to the clinic of the medical specialist for his opinion. He was wonderstruck to see me in his clinic the next day of his 7 days prescription of anti- biotic. After a thorough examination of my leg “You are much better” he exclaimed. “Can you show me the prescription I gave you.( He thought that by chance he might have written some special drug which might have worked wonders.)

My wife though was initially reluctant for fear of annoying him yet ventured and said “To tell you the truth, he has not taken medicine that you prescribed. He has taken homoeopathic medicine.  I interrupted and said. I wanted to remove your wrong impression about Homoeopathy and show as to how much effective homoeopathic medicines are (Of course in the right hands) even in cases of emergencies. “We can diagnose diseases better”., He satisfied his ego by saying so .
